Notes: Short mileage, but tough hike. We were in a rush to get done before sunset. We didn't make it all of the way to the summit, because it started thundering shortly before the Ridge Trail turn off.

The trail starts on planks through buttercups.

Let's get this hike started!

Even though it is past mud season, there was a lot of mud on the trails. The beginning of the hike is nice and level.

There is a large cairn on the hike. Tradition is that everyone adds a stone to the cairn.

And another growing cairn

And of all things, there are 2 teepees on this hike.

The intersection with the Pinnacle Meadows trail. Continue straight. At this point the hike is already grueling.

A sign on the trail marks a vista, just a few steps off of the trail. Worth a stop.
