We added a detour to St. Louis, Missouri to our trip so that I could visit Gateway Arch National Park. This is my 8th national park this year. We visited the Missouri state high point in 2023, but didn't visit the national park here. We had the whole day. We had Krumm with us, so we took turns going up to the arch. You reserve tickets ahead of time for a specific time and go up in a tram to the top of the arch. It's worth doing once. There is an urban park surrounding the park, and there were many people out and about - it looked like office workers getting some exercise on their lunch break. There is a visitor center. I stopped and looked around briefly. It was a hot day, so we didn't feel like walking around the park much.

In the evening, I had a phone call to be on, and Glen went out for a hike at a nature preserve near our hotel.
