- Brandywine Falls Trailhead, Northfield, OH
Directions:
- Follow the sign to Brandwine Falls. Walk along a boardwalk. Where the boardwalk splits, go left down the steps to a lookout. Return back upstairs and continue left on the boardwalk. At the next intersection turn left and walk along the paved Bike & Hike Trail. Turn left on the Brandywine Gorge Loop trail and follow it back to the parking lot.
Our second hike of the day was to Brandywine Falls, also mentioned by the park ranger. It's a larger waterfall that you can only view from an observation tower. There were lots of people walking on the boardwalk to the falls. Once we passed the falls, we saw fewer people. We walked next to the river, but I decided it was moving a little too fast to let Krumm swim in. He was pissed. Again, this hike had some car noise from the highway nearby. We saw a black rat snake slithering next to the trail. Krumm wanted nothing to do with it (good dog) and clung to the other side of the trail.
