Directions:

• Clockwise outer loop, including and out and back across the bridge that crosses the lake.

We have driven by Lake Junaluska many times, but we have never done the walking trail next to the lake. We weren't sure where to park, so we just headed to the lake and parked where we saw a few other cars parked. There are multiple spots around the lake that have parking though.

This is a paved trail the whole way. There are 2 loop variations - a shorter loop & a longer loop. We were looking to get 4 miles in, so we did the longer loop, but I'd recommend the shorter loop, because the longer loop goes next to the road more. This walk is in full sun, so better for a cooler day. We didn't let Krumm swim. We did let him put his feet in the water to cool off. He was frustrated with us. They offer kayak rentals here, but from what I read, they don't allow dogs in their rental kayaks, so what fun is that?  There are lots of flower beds along the walking path & in people's yards. This walk has so many people and so many dogs. I'm glad I did it once, but I'm not sure if I'd do it again.
